![]() Gnome's Videos app (formerly known as Totem) will work for videos, but on my Ubuntu LTS 18.04 workstation it crashes if you try playing audio files. On Linux I use Rhythmbox, but VLC should also work. ![]() Testing whether the DLNA service is working as expected can be done with any DLNA-enabled client. Although I could theoretically block all access to port 8096, the last time I tried that confused my TV (an LG that I suspect is solely using DLNA discovery, even though I enter in the proxied url) app, so I have left it open. As a result, all my internal media players are configured to use " " as the url for Emby. This allows me to offload SSL encryption to that proxy so I don't have to fiddle with it so I don't have to enable it on the Emby server itself. In my own setup I have assigned a unique subdomain to Emby ("") and proxy all web traffic to it throughĪn nginx virtual host. Restart Emby using the "power button" icon on the Dashboard. Dlna check "Enable DLNA server", "Blast alive messages" and set the "Alive message interval (seconds)" to 30. Disabling remote access after setting this up leaves the cert configuration (although it can no longer be viewed).
